MINISTER FOR PORTS AND SHIPPING SENATOR MIR HASIL KHAN BIZENJO VISITED THE GADANI SHIP BREAKING YARD FOR REVIEWING PROGRESS OF FIRE FIGHTING TEAMS WORKING IN THE AREA

The federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Senator Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo visited the catastrophe rigged area of Gadani Ship Breaking Yard to review the progress of the investigative teams and the fire fighting teams working in the area. He was accompanied by Director General Ports and Shipping Mr. Asad Rafi Chandana and Chairman Karachi Port Trust Vice Admiral (R) Shafqat Jawed HI (M) on this occasion. The Minister was briefed about the fire fighting work by the KPT Port Fire Officer Mr. Saeed Jadoon on the occasion. This Minister Bizenjo also met with the labours of the ship breaking yard and assured them of every support they require will be provided by the government.

While speaking on the occasion and briefing the media, the Mr. Hasil Bizenjo informed that he is visiting the area on humanitarian grounds as well as on the instructions of Prime Minister      Mr. Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. He informed further that he will submit report to the Prime Minister and assured that the culprits involved gets penalized soon. He said that the government is very seriously looking at this incident which has claimed umpteen lives so far and conveyed government support and assistance/compensation to poor victims on the occasion. He appreciated the efforts bestowed by KPT fire fighting team as well as others deployed and working in the area and complimented the prompt response given by KPT on the occasion which concluded the proceedings of the day.
