Chairman KPT Highlights CSR Works in Different Sectors of KPT
9th Annual Summit and Awards Ceremony is organized to move towards corporate social responsibilities (CSR) and thereby launching coordinated CSR initiatives with active public participation. While sharing his views and achievements through his paper, the Chairman KPT Rear Admiral (R) Jamil Akhtar HI(M), T.Bt spoke about KPT’s share of CSR works in different sectors; mainly the city infrastructure upgrade which included construction of roads, bridges and underpasses for better flow of traffic and also the investments that the port has made on different mega development projects in the city. KPT continued its CSR work in various areas especially the old localities of Keamari and Baba Bhit Islands where sewerage and drainage system are not only functional but have been upgraded to provide clean drinking water. The Port has also planned to repair and upgrade new gadgets for old fishing boats for the fishing communities living at Baba Bhit and other adjoining islands. The port was also running hospital and schools in less developed areas of the city, in addition to many other community development projects. Chairman KPT also spoke about upgrading new port facilities and other affiliated facilities like reconstruction of century old jetties. Taking these to next levels, the port has planned to develop tourist sites/facilities to provide Karachiites the best and easily accessible recreational places, he added to conclude his paper on the occasion.
